FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What Won’t you Sharpen?

I currently do no accept saw blades, ceramic blades, or scissors used for grooming (pet or human)

Do I need to be at home for the appointment?

Nope! Feel free to go on an adventure while I bring life back to your knives.

How often should i sharpen my knives?

It depends. If you are a home cook, once every 3-4 months. If you cook in a professional setting, then monthly or bi-weekly sharpening is recommended. When in doubt, try to cut a piece of paper with your knife. If it struggles to cut cleanly or tears the paper, then it’s time to give us a call.

Do you offer cleaning services for my knives?

Everything that passes through my shop is given a complimentary cleaning. For garden tools, that typically means a light scrubbing and application of silicone. For kitchen knives, a touch of vinegar to remove any rust spots. If you need a more extensive cleaning or reshaping, just let me know and we can discuss your needs.

Do you offer discounts?

We do! We offer loyalty discounts to customers who want recurring sharpening services. We offer monthly, quarterly, or custom service packages. Text or email for details.

How do you sharpen my tools?

I use a belt system for most projects, with the option of hand-sharpening on whetstones for most delicate tasks. Regardless of the project, I ensure your original bezel is preserved to maintain integrity, durability, and sharpness.
